When Mercury Went Direct, I Felt… Sad. Here’s What That Really Meant.
I woke up this morning feeling unexpectedly sad—because Mercury just stationed direct.
I know, that’s not the typical reaction. Most people breathe a sigh of relief when Mercury retrograde ends. No more tech glitches, communication chaos, or scheduling snafus to blame on Mercury. But not me.
I love Mercury retrograde. It supercharges my creativity. Over the past three weeks, I’ve written more than I have in months. And that lights me up.
While retrograde energy can definitely stir the pot, I’ve found that we’re often way too quick to throw Mercury—or anyone or anything else—under the bus. We love a scapegoat.
For years, I told myself I should be making art. I went to college for it, after all. And when I wasn’t creating, I carried a heavy shame—like I was wasting my talent.
Eventually, I gave in. I printed my photos, experimented with encaustic wax and resin, and even rented a booth at the local Sunday market. I waited for validation to roll in.
It didn’t.
Sure, I made a few sales, but mostly people smiled politely, chatted briefly, and moved on. I felt crushed. The old shame story came roaring back: You’re not good enough. You failed.
But here’s the real truth…
I didn’t want to be an artist anymore.
That identity? It wasn’t mine anymore. I just hadn’t allowed myself to admit it. I was blaming everything—Mercury, the market, the audience—anything but the real issue.
It wasn’t until I enrolled in life coaching school that I finally took radical responsibility for what I actually wanted. Not what I thought I should want.
That clarity changed everything.
I let go of the old story. I started writing. And I felt… free.
This is the power of self-responsibility. It cuts through the noise of shoulds and shame and lets us claim what’s truly aligned.
Once I owned it, I felt lighter. Liberated. And finally—I wrote.
So now, as Mercury goes direct, I’m choosing to carry this momentum forward. I’m outlining the book I’ve always wanted to write about my Astro Life way of living. I’m not blaming Mercury for going direct and taking my inspiration with it. Nope. I’m taking responsibility for keeping it going.
Let’s use this cosmic shift as a turning point.
Mercury going direct is an invitation to move forward—with intention, clarity, and ownership. If we want better communication, creative momentum, and more alignment, we have to stop outsourcing our power—even to the planets.
The energy may shift. But it’s what we do with it that creates real change.
And that’s how we break the cycle of self-sabotage:
One conscious choice and one small baby step at a time.
✨ So let me ask you this:
